The brochure about the business environment in Latvia
Students of the Faculty of Economics and Management in co-operation with the students of University of Claude Bernard of Lyon 1 (Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1) have made a brochure about the business environment in Latvia
On the 10th of May the brochure Business Environment in Latvia was presented in the Faculty of Economics and Management of the University of Latvia. The brochure was made by the 3rd year students of International Economics and Commercial Diplomacy with the assistance of Professor Baiba Savrina. The aim of the brochure is to give brief and concise information about the economical situation of the country, legislation, politics, the science and technological progress as well as the social – economic aspects in Latvia. The target audience of this brochure are the potential investors and entrepreneurs who would like to do their business in Latvia.
A similar brochure has been made by the French students of University of Claude Bernard of Lyon 1 about the business environments and its influencing factors in France. “I am very glad about the perspectives for this cooperation. For me the cooperation with University of Latvia is one of the most interesting and enriching programme we have and that I'm decided to contribute as much as I can , that it continues to grow and become a very longstanding and rich partnership” says professor Hoffman.
Students are glad and satisfied with participation in such a project: „I believe that this was a great opportunity to co-operate with French students in order to achieve a common goal and secondly, it allowed us to gain new contacts and also share different experiences, admits 3rd year student of International Economics and Commercial Diplomacy Margarita Zaboļejeva – Zotova. On the other hand, as Ieva Brice points out, „the cooperation with University of Lyon was very exciting – as a result very useful material about the business environment was created and our work was appreciated. This gives an additional stimulus to continue participation in different projects.”
Representatives from different state and municipality institutions – Investment and Development Agency of Latvia, Latvian Institute, Ministry of Economics, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bank of Latvia and Riga City Council, - were also participating in the presentation of the brochure, who admitted the high quality of the material. There was another presentation made in the Institute of France, where the representatives of the French Embassy’s Commercial department and agency Ubi France took part. Professor B.Savrina stresses that this is not the last co-operation project and every year the information in the brochure will be updated.
