International Summer School - Europe Asia Dynamics

A wonderful opportunity for students to participate in International Summer School - Europe Asia Dynamics. The Summer School will take place from June 26 until July9, 2016, in Bremen, Germany, at Hochschule Bremen, University of Applied Sciences. Working language - English.

European Studies Master Programme of the University of Latvia is one of the consortium partners to found and implement the Summer School. Therefore 5 students from University of Latvia will have a discount for participation fee! The participation fee to be payed - only 100 € (instead of 800 €). Also travel and accommodation expenses will be to a large part covered - up to 400 €. Students have to book their own tickets and accommodation and then can have the money reimbursed.
At the end of the course a certificate of attendance will be issued to each participant, as well as 6 credit points ECTS will be awarded, which can be transferred to the University of Latvia during the next study semester.
Of course, as it is international summer school - the participants and the faculty members will be from all over the world, which is a great opportunity for further social, personal, professional networking. The topical contents of the summer school - Europe Asia Dynamic - is supported by 4 universities (Germany, Latvia, India, Denmark, China) as well as the fast growing Asia-Europe Meeting platform. This guarantees the transfer of high-level interdisciplinary first-hand knowledge and will substantially improve your understanding, skills, knowledge and viewpoint about Europe-Asia relations, relationships and differences.
Europe Asia Dynamics Summer School will comprise 6 topics per 10 contact hours each:
Political dimension: Asia’s Relation with Europe
Historical dimension: Historical interactions between Asia and Europe
Economic dimension: The role of Europe and Asia in the global political economy
Social dimension: European social models, the Chinese social model, the Japanese welfare state, the Indian welfare system
Cultural dimension: Cultural interactions, differences in cultural norms, work cultures in Europe and in Asia. Intercultural training.
Sustainability dimension: Different European and Asian approaches to sustainability and environmental policy.
A factory tour to Mercedes Benz plant Bremen or Airbus Bremen is included!
Also an attractive and colorful supporting program will provide participants with ample opportunities to discover Bremen.
