"The EU - Between the Five Presidents’ Report and the Brexit"

Theme: The EU experiences financial, security and political crises. The lecture will describe the financial crisis and its treatment, the conflicting interests involved, the 'democratic deficit', the solidarity dilemma, the controversy over its reasons and over the manners of recovering it. It will then draw the links between the financial crisis and the other two crises, describing the '5 presidents report' vision for the establishment of full economic, financial and fiscal unions followed by a political union and trying to assess its feasibility in light of the Brexit.  Lecture in English
