After ten years of development, the China-CEE Cooperation, launched in 2012, has become an important multilateral cooperation platform for implementing the concept of the "Belt and Road initiative and enhancing policy communication, facility connectivity, smooth trade, financial integration and people-to-people ties between China and European countries. The year 2023 marks the tenth anniversary of the "Belt and Road" initiative, and in order to further strengthen and promote the "China-CEE Cooperation" in a deeper and more practical way, it is necessary to continue the cooperation in the new international context and development stage. In order to further strengthen and promote the "China-CEE Cooperation", it is necessary not only to deepen the economic and practical cooperation between China and CEE countries under the new international background and development stage, but also to give full play to the role of bilateral humanities exchanges and cooperation.
In view of this, the Center for Central and Eastern European Studies of Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU), an incubation base for country and area studies of the Ministry of Education, hopes to take advantage of its cluster of Central and Eastern European languages, use language as a bridge to achieve the mission of promoting humanistic exchanges and cooperation between China and CEE countries in universities, think tanks and people-to people exchanges. The Forum held its first, second and third sessions in 2016, 2018 and 2021 respectively, and has become a numbered international brand forum held every two years.
