The acquisition of the course is scheduled for the third year of residency. Clinical microbiology and hospital epidemiology – 2 weeks.
The aim of the course is to provide knowledge on the basic principles of the exhibition of antibiotics, the most important pathogens in the intensive care unit and the possibilities of their antibacterial treatment, on the possibilities of antiviral and antifungal drugs in the intensive care unit, on the prevention of perioperative antibiotics, as well as on the infection control in the intensive care unit.
The task of the course is to acquire the principles of ensuring hospital epidemiological control in the ICU department and operating room.
The course is taught in Latvian.
