Prof. Inga Būmane

The professor has extensive experience in higher education administration. Since 2010, I. Būmane has served as an accreditation expert for the State Education Quality Service of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Latvia, assessing general and professional continuing education programs, and has participated in the accreditation of multiple programs. She also has practical experience in accounting and taxation, is a member of the Association of Accountants, and is a certified accountant. Her academic interests focus on international accounting standardization and the synergy between theoretical and practical approaches in accounting methodology.

Prof. Ramona Rupeika-Apoga

The professor is an expert in economics and business for the Latvian Council of Science and a senior researcher in finance at UL. R.Rupeika-Apoga is the author of teaching materials and over 50 international scientific publications in finance. She gained practical experience in financial markets while working at one of the largest international commercial banks. The professor has completed internships and taught at foreign universities in Germany, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Russia, Turkey, Greece, Poland, and Norway. She serves on the editorial boards of several international journals, participates in international associations and networks, and is the founder of the Nordic-Baltic Network in Corporate and International Finance.

Prof. Svetlana Saksonova

The professor is an expert in economics and management for the Latvian Council of Science and a senior researcher at the UL. Her academic interests focus on economics, financial management issues in the corporate and banking sectors, and decision-making processes in public administration and educational institutions. As a practitioner, she has worked as an economist, chief accountant, and unit manager in Latvian companies and commercial banks. Svetlana Saksonova has extensive experience in leading and implementing international and state-funded research projects, developing and managing study programs, and delivering professional specialization courses. She is the author of several monographs, teaching materials, and scientific publications.

Prof. Pierpaolo Marano

Pierpaolo Marano holds a Ph.D. in Banking law and regulation from the University of Siena. He is also an Associate Professor at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan, a scholar in residence at the University of Connecticut, an Affiliate Faculty at the University of Malta, and an Honorary Fellow at the University of Hong Kong. A widely sought writer and speaker on insurance law and regulation and one of the drafters of the Italian Code of Private Insurance, Pierpaolo Marano is the author of two monographs, co-editor of ten books, and author of over 100 academic papers on insurance law and regulation, corporate law, banking law, and bankruptcy law. He is the Director of the AIDA Europe Research Series on Insurance Law and Regulation that is the first book series of its kind and area of specialization. He is serving as an associate editor of the European Insurance Law Review, Assicurazioni, International Journal of Finance, Insurance and Risk Management, and Journal of Accounting, Finance, and Auditing Studies.

Prof. Inna Romānova

Inna Romānova is the Director of the FESS Institute of Economics and Management and the Director of the professional master’s programme Financial Economics. She is an expert in economics and business at the Latvian Council of Science. Her academic interests focus on financial management and the development of financial technologies. Prof. Romānova has over 20 years of teaching experience in Latvia and abroad and has served as a visiting professor at several European universities. She also has professional experience in banking and finance in Latvia and Germany. She is a member of the editorial boards of several scientific journals and books. Prof. Romānova has participated in numerous research projects, including the State Research Programme project Challenges and Solutions for the Latvian State and Society in an International Context, where she served as the sub-project leader at UL.

Prof. Irina Solovjova

The professor's academic interests focus on economics and finance. Her main research areas include the stability of commercial banking systems, the assessment of commercial bank safety, the impact of macroeconomic environments on banking system stability, and risks faced by firms and banks.

Irina Solovjova has 15 years of teaching experience. She is the author of two scientific monographs and over 30 articles in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings. She has participated in 20 international scientific conferences and in 10 ESF and Latvian Council of Science (LCS) financed projects. Since 2016, she has served as an expert in economics for the LCS.

Prof. Marina Kudinska

The professor's academic and research interests focus on commercial banking operations, risk management, and the development of FinTech companies. Marina Kudinska teaches academic courses and conducts professional development seminars and training for banking staff. She is the author of more than 40 scientific publications and monographs, as well as four textbooks. The professor has participated in three working groups for the development of professional standards and has extensive experience in academic administration, including leading study programs.
