Prof. Anda Batraga

The professor's academic interests focus on marketing, marketing communications, integrated marketing communications, and brand management. Anda Batraga has developed several study program courses in these specializations. She also has extensive experience serving on the University of Latvia’s Economics Promotion Council and currently chairs the FESS Economics Promotion Council.

Prof. Gundars Bērziņš

Gundars Bērziņš is the Rector of the University of Latvia, a professor at FESS, a leading researcher, and a full member of the Latvian Academy of Sciences. He previously served as the Chancellor of the University of Latvia and as Dean of the Faculty of Business, Management, and Economics. He has extensive experience in the private business sector and is passionate about strategy and strategic thinking in business. Professor Bērziņš teaches courses such as Management Theory, Business Strategy and Policy Management, and Strategic and Operational Planning.

Prof. Andrejs Cekuls

Andrejs Cekuls has over 20 years of practical experience in managing international companies and sales projects. His academic and research interests focus on organizational management, leadership, entrepreneurship, and competitive intelligence. He is a member of the Strategic and Competitive Intelligence Professionals (SCIP) organization and an expert in management science for the Latvian Council of Science. A. Cekuls is the author of several publications on current management issues and has presented at international conferences in Europe and the United States.

Prof. Biruta Sloka

Prof. Inesa Vorončuka

The proferssor's academic interests focus on human resource management in both public administration and the private sector. I. Vorončuka serves on the Promotion Council for Management Science and Demography, the Professors’ Council for Management Science and Demography, and chairs the Doctoral Council for Management Science. She has extensive international experience in research, academic work, and leading international projects. She has authored over 90 publications and two monographs. As a Baltic Foundation scholar, Professor I. Vorončuka conducted research and academic work at Southwest Texas State University (USA) and has led projects in collaboration with faculty and researchers from Kaunas University of Technology (Lithuania), Foundation of Social Activity (Poland), Pathways: Inspirational Development C.I.C. (United Kingdom), Istituto Culturale Relazioni Euromediterranee (Italy), and other universities.

Prof. Henrijs Kaļķis

Professor Henrijs Kaļķis is the director of the professional bachelor’s study program Industrial Engineering and Management and serves as a member of the Promotion Council. His research and teaching focus on effective business management, LEAN methodologies, quality management, occupational risk management, human factors, and ergonomics. He is the author and co-author of several books, scientific monographs, and research publications. Professor Kaļķis is a board member of the Business Efficiency Association and the Latvian Ergonomics Society. He has gained experience and expertise through internships at several leading universities in the United States.

Prof. Jeļena Šalkovska

The professor holds a doctoral degree in Economics from the University of Latvia. She is the author and co-author of the scientific monograph Integrated Marketing Communication and other scholarly publications and books. Her academic interests include marketing, integrated marketing communication, innovative marketing, digital marketing, and the application of artificial intelligence in marketing and logistics. She serves as an expert for the Latvian Council of Science in social sciences – economics and business. She is the founder of the Latvian Innovation and Technology Association and the lead expert at the research and innovation agency INNOMATRIX.

Assoc. prof. Vadims Danovičs

Vadims Danovičs has 20 years of academic and practical experience. His academic interests focus on marketing, logistics, and insurance. He has gained practical experience holding various senior positions in companies specializing in marketing, logistics, investment attraction, and real estate development and management. He studied at Sorbonne University in France, where he completed his master’s and doctoral degrees. The Associate Professor regularly delivers lectures in France and collaborates on joint research projects with French universities.

Assoc. prof. Inese Āboliņa

Inese Āboliņa is an associate professor in Public Governance at UL FESS, a leading researcher in business management, the director of the master’s study program European Studies and Economic Diplomacy, and the director of the subprogram Law Enforcement, Criminal Sanctions Execution, and Emergency Services Management within the master’s study program Public Governance. She serves as an expert for the Latvian Council of Science in social sciences – political science.

Assoc. prof. Olga Bogdanova

Olga Bogdanova has 18 years of academic and practical experience. She is a co-author of four scientific monographs and has published over 35 scholarly articles on energy challenges, regional cooperation, and economic development. She serves as an expert for the Latvian Council of Science in economics. Since 2005, she has worked in the public administration sector and currently holds the position of Deputy State Secretary at the Ministry of Climate and Energy, responsible for international and climate policy issues. In 2022, she was elected as a member of the Research Committee of the World Energy Council and serves as the President of the Latvian National Committee of the World Energy Council.

Assoc. prof. Māris Pūķis

Māris Pūķis is an associate professor and leading researcher at the FESS with 20 years of experience in scientific research in applied magnetohydrodynamics until 1992, and over 30 years of experience in public administration research. Since 1989, he has been actively involved in practical politics as a representative of the Latvian Association of Local and Regional Governments and has participated for more than three decades in shaping municipal policy and advocating for local community interests. He has served as a parliamentary secretary in five governments. His research interests focus on public management, public sector economics, and public law, with studies emphasizing the application of interdisciplinary scientific methods to political agenda issues.

Assoc. prof. Kārlis Purmalis
