Project aim: The aim of this research project is to analyse Latvia’s experience in communicating about Russia and the Russian culture in the Latvian-language public sphere, both in the context of current geopolitical developments and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, as well as from a historical perspective. The project’s implementation objectives include the preparation of two scholarly articles on the place of Russia and its culture in Latvia, their transformation, and their impact on Latvian identity and values; the presentation of research findings at a scientific conference; dissemination through popular publications; the integration of newly generated knowledge into university course content; and the development of policy recommendations based on the study results.
The project is one of the activities supported under the Recovery and Resilience Facility project ‘Internal and External Consolidation of the University of Latvia’ (No. 5.2.1.1.i.0/2/24/I/CFLA/007).
