The Library of the University of Latvia is the largest university library in Latvia and has been accredited as a library of national significance. Its primary mission is to support the University’s study process and research activities by providing high-quality information resources and services, which are easily and quickly accessible to every user in line with modern technological capabilities.

The Library's collection comprises approximately 1,8 million information resource units, including books, journals, newspapers, maps, manuscripts, images, sound recordings, dissertations, and other materials. Additionally, it offers access to over 200,000 electronic resources across various fields of science.

The organization of the Library's resources is structured in accordance with the University’s academic and study infrastructure.

The Library of Social Sciences is one of Latvia’s most comprehensive specialized information resource centers in political science, sociology, and communication studies. It also offers resources in information and library science, social work, and social and cultural anthropology.

The collection includes nearly 20,000 printed publications, many of which are also available through the University of Latvia Library's electronic resources.
