Jau trešo gadu pēc kārtas uz Latvijas Universitātes Sociālo zinātņu fakultāti (LU SZF) dodas studenti no Ukrainas, kas projekta “Spring School” ietvaros Latvijā apgūst Eiropas Savienības studiju programmu. Lai atbraukušie studenti labāk iepazītu fakultāti, tās sabiedrisko dzīvi un studentus, 21. martā norisinājās LU SZF Studējošo pašpārvaldes rīkotā spēle “Spring School Orientation Game”.
Ukraiņu un latviešu studenti satikās J. Berlina auditorijā, kur, pēc Studējošo pašpārvaldes priekšsēdētāja vietnieka Mihaila Potapova svinīgās uzrunas, uzzināja svarīgākos faktus par Latviju, LU Sociālo zinātņu fakultāti un Studējošo pašpārvaldi. Lai neapmaldītos garajos gaiteņos, atrastu auditoriju un kafejnīcu, fakultātes iepazīšanas spēles ietvaros pasākuma dalībniekiem bija jāatrdod kontrolpunkti un jāizpilda visdažādākie uzdevumi. Studentiem vajadzēja radoši izpausties multimediju studijā, bija jāsagatavo šifrēts teikums bibliotēkā, jāuzzina, cik maksā maltīte kafejnīcā un jāatrod fakultātes vadības pārstāvju un pasniedzēju kabineti.
Lai veiksmīgi uzsāktu studijas un zinātu, kā piekļūt mācību materiāliem, studenti tika iepazīstināti ar LUIS, e-studiju un bibliotēku kopkataloga lietošanu, savukārt LU Studentu padomes Ārlietu virziena vadītāja Annija Vilcāne un Erasmus+ Social Network Latvia nacionālais koordinators Raimonds Rubenis iepazīstināja ar ārpusstudiju iespējām, tai skaitā LU Studentu padomes organizēto kultūru apmaiņas programmu „Culture Exchange Programme” (CEP), kuras ietvaros visa gada garumā tiek organizēti dažādi pasākumi ārvalstu studentiem. Pasākuma noslēgumā studenti kļuva par īstiem „SZF’iešiem”, savā īpašumā iegūstot dzelteno fakultātes kreklu un Studējošo pašpārvaldes izsniegto apliecinājumu par dalību pasākumā.
Pasākuma iespaidos dalās viena no tā dalībniecēm, ukraiņu studente Mariia Prokopiv:
“Orientēšanās spēle Sociālo zinātņu fakultātē bija ļoti interesanta. Uzdevumu izpildes laikā izmantojām mūsu loģikas prasmes, kreativitāti, komandas garu. Man ļoti patika uzdevums bibliotēkā, lai arī šis uzdevums bija vissarežģītākais. Tāpat bija ļoti jauki sastapt fakultātes suni Rondo. Spēles laikā iepazināmies ar dažiem latviešu studentiem un labāk iepzinām fakultātes ēku. Esmu ļoti pateicīga latviešu studentiem par sirsnīgo uzņemšanu.”
Pēc pasākuma dalībnieki turpināja sadraudzību, kopīgi ieturot maltīti latviskās noskaņās atpūtas centrā „Lido”, kur neformālā gaisotnē turpinājās ukraiņu un latviešu studentu sarunas.
Ar šo pasākumu sadraudzība nebeidzas - jau 11. maijā notiks nākamais LU SZF Studējošo pašpārvaldes organizētais pasākums – ikgadējais Latvijas un Ukrainas studentu koncerts “Spring School Concert 2017”, kas šogad tiks rīkots ar LU Studentu padomes atbalstu. Koncertā aicināti piedalīties Latvijas Universitātes un citu augstskolu studenti. Plašāka informācija par šo pasākumu tiks publicēta LU SZF mājaslapā līdz 11. aprīlim.

For the third time in row, students from Ukraine arrive at the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Latvia in order to participate in the "Spring School" project – European Union Studies in Latvia. In order to get to know the faculty and its social life, on March 21, 2017, the “Spring School Orientation Game” was organized by the Student Council.
Ukrainian and Latvian students met in I. Berlin auditorium. After a short speech by Mihails Potapovs, Vice President of the Student Council the guests discovered the most important facts about Latvia, the Faculty of Social sciences and the Student Council. To make sure students won’t get lost in the long hallways of the faculty and will be able to find every auditorium and cafeteria, they had to find checkpoints and accomplish different tasks. Students had to show their creativity at the multimedia studio, to uncover an encrypted sentence at the library, to discover the prices of nutrition products at the cafeteria, as well as to find the offices of the Faculty's administrative and academic staff.
In furtherance of successful studies, the students explored the Information System of University of Latvia (LUIS), E-studijas (Moodle system) and the Joint Library Catalogue. As to the non-curricular activities, the Head of Foreign Affairs of the University of Latvia Students' Council Annija Vilcāne and Erasmus+ Social Network Latvia national coordinator Raimonds Rubenis informed Ukrainian students about numerous non-curricular activities, including the Culture Exchange Programme (CEP) organized by the University of Latvia Students' Council, which provides various activities for foreign students throughout the year. At the end of event students received the traditional yellow T-shirts of the faculty and the Certificates of Participation issued by the Student Council.
One of the participants of event, Ukrainian student Mariia Prokopiv sharing her experience says: “The orientation game held at the Faculty of Social Sciences was really exciting and diverse. We have been using our logic, creativity, team spirit during the task. I really liked the task at the library, although this was the most difficult one. And it was also nice to meet the faculty's dog Rondo. We also have met some Latvian students while playing and got to know the building of the faculty. I am really grateful to the Latvian students for such warm welcome”.
After the game, the Ukrainian students and their Latvian counterparts continued the amical get-together by enjoying a traditional Latvian meal at “Lido” Leisure Centre.
Eventually, the partnership does not end after the event, soon enough, on May 11, the annual Latvia and Ukraine student concert “Spring School Concert 2017” will be held by the Student Council of the Faculty of Social Sciences. This year, the concert will be organized in cooperation with the University of Latvia Students' Council. Students of the University of Latvia and other higher education institutions are welcome to participate in the concert! More information about the event will be published on the web page of the Faculty by April 11.
